Stanton: 'absolutely worth continuing' with the capsule

From:: Richard Stanton
Date:: July 8, 2018 (approximate within July 6-8, 2018; thread mixes Pacific and Thailand timestamps)
To:: Elon Musk

It is absolutely worth continuing with the development of this system in as timely a manner as feasible. If the rain holds out it may well be used.

About this email

Stanton encourages Musk to keep developing the capsule, saying it may well be used if the rain holds off. Musk later cited this email publicly to rebut claims the mini-sub was impractical.

Notes

Musk Decl. Ex. C (email chain with British cave diver Richard Stanton, July 6-8, 2018). The exhibit prints the chain newest-first with timestamps from two mail clients (Pacific time and Thailand time), so the exact send time of individual messages is uncertain; the date is a best reading. Transcribed from a scanned exhibit; minor OCR variance possible. Musk posted screenshots of part of this chain on Twitter on July 10, 2018.
