Normally I would agree, as I have found that my total daily productivity is optimal at around 6 to 6.5 hours of sleep.

Notes

Released by the U.S. Department of Justice on 2026-01-30 as part of the Epstein files. The text here is only what news outlets quoted from the DOJ PDFs; the DOJ files sit behind an age-verification page and could not be retrieved. Being named in the files is not evidence of wrongdoing. Musk's public response on X (31 Jan 2026): "I had very little correspondence with Epstein and declined repeated invitations to go to his island or fly on his 'Lolita Express', but was well aware that some email correspondence with him could be misinterpreted and used by detractors to smear my name." Epstein's lines in the same exchange, per Business Insider: "now its time for fun" and "benefit analysis would probably show , tesla doing better with you getting more sleep". Business Insider also quotes a February 2013 email from Musk's assistant: "Shall we organize a lunch for Elon and Jeffrey to get together at SpaceX in the coming weeks?" and "Elon is generally available at SpaceX on Mon, Thurs and Fri each week."
