Sounds good. Will call this evening. Just a short call between us that maybe leads to a larger group call. Key question to solve is: can we put together a diverse enough investor/lender group, such that no single investor can demand special terms? Saudi Arabia would do the entire thing of course, as this is strategically critical to their future, but they would require that we build a Gigafactory there sooner than we would prefer. Hopefully, we can avoid that requirement.

About this email

Musk tells Goldman's Dan Dees the key question is whether a diverse investor group can be assembled so no single investor can demand special terms, saying Saudi Arabia would fund the whole take-private but would want a Gigafactory there.

Notes

In the machine transcription of the PDF, Musk's reply runs directly into the quoted earlier message from Dees ('Anytime. On mobile. Or if u have a set time that works best for u, I can line up a dial in and get the broader team. Either way works'); that trailing text is treated here as Dees's quoted message and excluded. Boundary should be checked against the PDF.
